One of the most breathtaking areas on the eastern seaboard is the Chesapeake Bay, which draws thousands of visitors each year. They can enjoy a wide range of activities, including sailing fishing and hunting. The Chesapeake is also a wonderful natural habitat for many species of wildlife, including a rich variety of water fowl. One particular bird that is a common sight in the marshes and waterways is the mallard, whose distinctive coloration makes it one of the most beautiful ducks in North America.
The many outsdoormen who enjoy visiting the Chesapeake bay area can usually be seen behind the wheel of a four-wheel drive vehicle, including the ever popular Chevy Blazer.
The Blazer has only existed since 1969 when Chevrolet responded to the growing interest in 4X4s by adapting its K-10 four-wheel drive pickup truck to the Blazer. This was a smart move; within a year, Chevy more than doubled its output of the Blazer. The Chevy K/5 Blazer had a turbo-Fire 307 cubic-inch V-8 engine that offered 200 horsepower at 4800 rpms.
The Blazer was nearly a foot wider and over two feet longer than its closest competitor and thus had a much more commodious interior.
Now, the introductory 1969 Chevy K/5 Blazer is an exciting die-cast replica. Crafted to capture every precise detail - including the elaborate chassis - this replica is decorated with the graphics of "Mallard Acres" of Chesapeake Bay. Crafted with a flat bottom boat (with a quiet operating electric motor) on its roof rack, this model is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
